What kind of driving licence do I need?
To drive a ioscoot scooter, you’ll need a scooter licence (AM) or driving licence (B). To drive a 125 cc ioscoot, you’ll need either an A1 licence or a car licence (B) that’s three years old.
What’s the minimum age for using ioscoot?
You have to be at least 18 years old
Do I have to wear a helmet?
Yes. It’s indispensable for your safety, and it’s required for driving. The scooter has two courtesy helmets, size S, M, or L, which you can use at no additional cost. However, you can always leave the scooter’s helmet in the compartment and use your own.
Can I take a passenger?
Yes. The scooters are approved for two people.
Are the scooters insured?
The scooters come with insurance provided by a major insurer. This insurance covers damages to third parties, personal damages to the driver and passenger, any potential damage to the scooter beyond the amount of the excess (deductible).
Is card payment secure?
Yes, it’s 100% secure. Payment is made through the secure gateway of a major banking institution, guaranteeing the confidentiality of the data and the security of the transmission.
What times of day can I use the scooters?
You can use the scooters 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
Who can use the scooter?
Only the person who made the reservation is authorised to drive the scooter. Keep in mind that, in the event of an accident, the insurance only covers the reservation holder.
Do I have to charge the scooter to use it?
No, don’t worry. We make sure the scooters have enough power left so you can take your trip with no trouble.
Where can I download the app?
The app is available on Google Play and the App Store. Just put “ioscoot” in the search window and download it for free.
Can I have the same ioscoot user on more than one smartphone?
No. The user will only remain active on the last device they logged onto.
How do I sign up for ioscoot?
You can sign up in just a few minutes through the app, in the “Create profile” section. When you’ve finished registering, you can use ioscoot immediately.
What do I need in order to join ioscoot?
You just need to have your driving licence and your bank card on hand.
How long do I have to get to the scooter?
You have a 15-minute courtesy window to start your trip. But you can start your trip as soon as you reach the scooter, even if the 15 minutes aren’t up.
After those 15 minutes are up, the trip will start, and the scooter usage minutes will begin running. If after 10 minutes you still haven’t started your trip, the trip will be automatically cancelled, and those 10 minutes will be counted as a completed trip.
Can I cancel my reservation?
No problem. But remember that, if you cancel your reservation after confirming it, a cancellation fee may apply.
How do I start up the scooter?
When you get to the scooter, switch the red button on the handlebars into the OFF position and then tap “Activate scooter” from your smartphone. To start the engine, just switch the red button on the handlebars to ON.
How do I open the helmet compartment / boot?
Activate the scooter and tap “Open boot”.
How do I end my trip?
To end your trip, make sure you’ve done the following:
- Parked in a space authorised for scooters within the ioscoot area.
- Switched the red button on the handlebars to OFF.
- Returned the helmets and closed the compartment.
Can I make a stop along the way in my trip?
Yes. Just lock the scooter by switching the red button on the handlebars to OFF. That way, the reservation is still active, but only you can start the scooter.
To start the engine again, activate the scooter and switch the red button on the handlebars to ON.
What happens if I don’t know how to get to my destination?
Don’t worry. In the app, click on “set destination,” and enter the address. The scooter’s GPS will guide you to the address selected.
Can I go outside the ioscoot area during my reservation?
Of course. The ioscoot area is only meant for picking up and dropping off the scooter. During the reservation, you can move freely outside of the ioscoot area and even make stops along the way (without ending your trip).
What’s included in the price?
The price includes the service, the VAT, insurance coverage, and helmet usage.
How much does ioscoot cost?
You can check out our rates on our website or in the menu in the ioscoot app. You pay only for the minutes you use the scooter.

Cancel your trip and go on your way, and we’ll send a technician to look at the scooter.

What do I do if the scooter stops during the trip?
Park the scooter properly. On the “Activate scooter” screen in the app, you have the option to report an incident. From there you can let us know you had a problem. End your trip and go on your way.
One of our technicians will take a look at the scooter as soon as possible, and once we’ve confirmed the problem, we’ll let you know.
What do I do if, at the end of a trip, I want to recommend that someone take a look at the scooter?
Before ending the trip, you have the option to report an incident on the “Activate scooter” screen in the app. You can send us your recommendation from there.
One of our technicians will take a look at the scooter as soon as possible.
What do I do if I run out of my smartphone battery during the trip?
Your smartphone is the key to driving the scooter. Please make sure you have enough battery for your trip.
If your phone runs out of batteries, you can call us on the phone number listed on the ioscoot.com website, and we’ll help you out.
If it’s outside of business hours, park the scooter properly, turn it off with the button on the handlebars, and go on your way. Don’t worry, no one can turn it on.
What do I do if I’m stopped by the police?
If the police stop you, they’ll ask for your documentation. You can find the scooter’s documentation in the boot. Remember to return it to its place after you’ve shown it to them.
What do I do if I’m involved in an accident?
The scooter is equipped with sensors that will already have detected it.
If you’ve suffered minor injuries, or if there is another party, take down their data (name, identity card information (DNI), licence plate) and send us an email at the address found in the app. We’ll contact you to fill out the accident report.
If you can’t continue, end your trip and park the scooter properly. A technician will take care of the scooter as soon as possible.
In the scooter you’ll find a number for a towing service, in case you can’t park it properly and urgently need it removed.
